Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Jan Lamb received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Corcoran College of Art and Design in 2000. Although Lamb always considered herself a painter, her concentration was in painting and printmaking. Lamb’s prints now are mostly monotypes, a very painterly one of a kind print.

In the spring of 2001 in Cortona, Italy she studied printmaking through the University of Georgia.  It is from those experiences in Italy that the material for her current paintings and prints is drawn.

She has shown her work throughout the Washington-Baltimore area.  Lamb is currently on the faculty at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, Frederick.  She is  also involved with the Go Figure Frederick, a figure-drawing workshop, a member of the Corcoran Alumni Association and a member of the Frederick County Art Association.

Her studio is a renovated shed now complete with insulated walls and a smooth concrete floor. Most of the spiders are gone now so it is quite cozy.
